The SAR Watch

Precision Planning and Simulations, Inc. is a small business providing services to both commercial and government clients. These services include exercises, training, and response support. Our personnel are highly qualified trainers and facilitators who work with each of our clients to provide custom designed services to meet their needs and enhance their preparedness programs. We work with our clients to find the most cost effective means to meet their preparedness requirements while also minimizing the economic impact to putting a program in place.

Training Support - PPS provides our clients with custom training to fit their individual needs. We tailor our classroom instruction to meet the needs of each customer. We provide lecture based instruction supported by audio-visual aids, in-class workshops, student notebooks, and hand out material. Instructional audio-visual aids include the use of response related videotapes Our security and ICS training courses include in-class workshops that are focused on the customer’s “most probable” scenariosand Power Point presentations to reinforce the lecture.

Our security and ICS training courses include in-class workshops that are focused on the customer’s “most probable” scenarios. During each in-class workshop we provide the students with a realistic scenario, which requires them to work through challenging issues using their emergency response/security plans.

During the workshops, students are required to develop their internal response organization, complete ICS forms, establish site security, simulate ordering equipment and resources, address public health and safety concerns, develop press releases, conduct simulated press conferences, and develop an Incident Action Plan for the next operational period.

Existing Training Courses

As a part of our training package each student receives a comprehensive student notebook, which contains detailed notes that follow our course of instruction. In addition, we insure that all essential reference material is provided. These references typically include federal, state, or local laws regulations, applicable policy guidance, etc. Due to the large size of many of these references, PPS typically provides these references to the student on a computer compact disk (CD).

During our in-class workshops, PPS employs the same computer based incident simulator (PISCES) that we use in our exercises. During our workshops, the student watches the incident occur, via a large screen display, and is then tasked with making response decisions, and taking response actions as the incident plays out. Students are required to establish an Emergency Management Team, locate their Command Post and equipment staging areas, complete ICS forms, deploy emergency response assets, and develop During our workshops, the student watches the incident occur, via a large screen display, and is then tasked with making response decisions, and taking response actions as the incident plays out.an IAP for the next operational period of the response. PPS has had great success using the PISCES simulator during this type of in-class workshop, and we find that PISCES allows the students to receive a realistic view of the effectiveness of their response actions. Currently PPS is the only contractor in the U.S. employing the PISCES simulator for emergency response training sessions, and exercises.

Under our “one-stop” servicing concept, every training course can be designed to not only deliver the course of instruction, but the workshops can be structured to meet your organization’s regulatory requirements for your annual exercise. Train your personnel and get your exercise credit at the same time.

PPS has a highly trained staff of instructors. Each of our instructors gained their experience while serving and instructing in the United States Coast Guard.
